Bad news upfront: I totally missed my 30 painting goal for this month! January is not over yet, but I still haven’t really updated my blog every day and I wasn’t so happy to share all my experimental paintings, especially the ones I didn’t like.
I actually did a lot of other painting work this month. The first one is watercolor painting, I did a class at Craftsy – Sketching Landscapes in Pen, Ink & Watercolor by . Which was really inspiring in picking up my watercolors again. More to this in the next blog posts when I’ve photographed some of my little experimental paintings.
I also got a new book by , an amazing abstract painter. Unfortunately she doesn’t seem to have a website, but I’ll do a book review for sure. Her work is so colorful and fun, exactly the things I want to express with mine and I think I can learn a lot from her. The paintings she inspired me to do will also be in some of the next blog posts, so stay tuned!
In the mean time here is a daily painting I did in November 2015, and I was happy to have a view in-progress images for you. It’s one of those paintings where I felt a little bit lost and had to push myself to try some new techniques because nothing I usually did seemed to work. I ended up with some scraping and oil pastels on top and in the end really loved the outcome. I feel like it has a collage vibe, lots of different layers.
Thank you very much for visiting my blog 🙂
Lots of love,
